Searching for literature can be a little daunting, especially at the start of a research phase. The library offers many search tools to help you find what you’re looking for, but what on earth is an OPAC? And what do we mean by Discovery? Which tool does what? And how do I filter all these search results?
This 60-minute starter pack will give you a brief overview of our main search tools (the Catalogue and Discovery), help you decide when to choose which one, and explain some of their functionalities (and peculiarities). You will also learn how to differentiate between types of publications, just by looking at a citation!
The course is for everyone – whether you’re new to the library or looking for a refresher ahead of the term paper phase.
