We are extremely happy to share that our project “BehAIve: Behaviour Monitoring and Support of Older Adults” has been selected for funding by the Ministry of Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs of the State Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the context of the State’s Excellence Initiative “Anwendungsorientierte Exzellenzforschung”. Our project is one of only three out of 29 proposals selected for funding and is planned to start in April next year.
With BehAIve, we aim to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) system that provides situation-adaptive support to geriatric patients and people with mild cognitive impairments (MCI) in performing everyday activities. To this end, we will develop a hybrid AI assistance system that combines symbolic, statistical, and deep machine learning methods, with a particular focus on neuro-symbolic approaches and large language models.
Our consortium consists of eight direct and three associate partners, with Data Science Greifswald as the lead partner. We will work together with experts in hybrid AI, data science, clinical dementia research, neurology, geriatrics, ethics, digital health, marine data science, and clinical nursing from the Universities of Greifswald, Rostock, Wismar, Neubrandenburg, the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases, and the University of Bristol.
