ECONUT Webinar - Results from beach wrack samplings

How can beach wrack become a coastal resource rather than a nuisance? Join our ECONUT webinar to hear the latest findings on beach wrack ecology, climate impacts, and new cross-border collaboration in Denmark and Sweden.

Beach wrack is more than “waste” washed ashore. Made up of algae, seagrass and other debris, these natural deposits play a crucial role in coastal ecosystems. The ECONUT project is exploring how beach wrack can support healthier coasts through biodiversity, nutrient recycling, dune stabilization, and even climate-friendly applications. 

Join our ECONUT webinar to learn about new results from Baltic Sea sampling and experiments revealing the ecological and climate implications of beach wrack. You will hear from researchers studying nutrient supply and greenhouse gas emissions, along with an introduction to the new Danish/Swedish Coastal Network supporting sustainable coastal management.
