From November 2020, the Chair of Sustainability Science and Applied Geography will initiate the BMBF project "ECAS-BALTIC Ecosystem-supporting Coastal Adaptation Strategies for the German Baltic Sea Coast". Together with colleagues from seven partner institutions, including the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW) and the Institute of Biosciences at the University of Rostock will Dr. Cristina de la Vega-Leinert investigate innovative, sustainable coastal protection approaches for the German Baltic Sea coast. The Greifswald sub-project explores paths to encourage the social acceptance of ecosystem-based coastal protection measures.
