Board of Directors
The Medieval Centre is headed by a professor. They are assisted by two deputies and two further members of the board.
The Board of Directors is appointed for a period of two years on the recommendation of the members of the Centre.

The election took place at the general meeting on 4 March 2024.
Statutes of the Medieval Centre Greiswald
§ 1 Institutional Affiliation
The Medieval Centre is a facility of the University of Greifswald, based at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
§ 2 Tasks
The Centre has the task of conducting interdisciplinary medieval research. This is achieved through cooperation and coordination of courses, lecture series, study days, research projects, conferences, colloquia and relevant publications.
§ 3 Members
Membership is open to all those interested in the medieval period. To join, an informal request must be sent to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors decides on the granting of membership.
§ 4 General Meeting
The general meeting convenes at the decision of the Board or at the request of at least one third of the members. The general meeting can make proposals regarding the Centre's concept. The general meeting elects the Board of Directors.
§ 5 Board of Directors
All members of the Board of Directors are members of the University of Greifswald or another research institution based in Greifswald. The centre is headed by a professor from the University of Greifswald. They are assisted by two deputies and two further members of the Board. One of the Board members can be a student of the University of Greifswald. The Board advises and decides on all issues of general and fundamental importance. In particular, it is responsible for the following tasks
1. Organisation of academic events
2. Development and planning of research and focal areas
3. Acquisition of research funds.
The Board of Directors is appointed for a period of two years on the recommendation of the members of the Centre. Reappointment is possible. The election of the Spokesperson and the Board of Directors is conducted by secret ballot and in separate elections.
The Statutes were adopted at the constituent meeting on 23 January 1995, supplemented at the general meeting on 25 January 1999 and revised on 4 March 2024.
