Faculty Council at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities
The Faculty Council is the legislative body of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. According to § 22 of the University’s Basic Rules, its members are responsible for adopting faculty regulations, deciding on fundamental matters of study and teaching as well as other matters specified in the State Higher Education Act. They elect the Faculty Management and are involved in drawing up the University Development Plan and the faculty’s structural and development planning.
The Faculty Council gives its opinion on the distribution of resources allocated to the faculty as proposed by the Faculty Management, and on the establishment, modification and cancellation of degree courses.
The term of office is two years, one year for student members.
The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities consists of 22 members:
- twelve representatives of the professorial staff
- four representatives of the academic staff
- four student representatives
- two representatives of all further employees
