The work package pursues the question of how a transfer of the concept of ocean literacy to the regional conditions in the Baltic Sea region can be developed and shaped. The basic hypotheses of the project are:

  1. BALTIC SEA LITERACY: The concept of Ocean Literacy needs to be concretised to the specifics of the Baltic Sea in order to achieve a transformation of the region towards sustainability.
  2. CONDITIONAL FACTORS: Baltic Sea Literacy is an individual-level factor that, along with other personal and external factors, triggers the behavioural changes necessary for a comprehensive sustainability transformation.
