Outreach: Mediating Constructions of Heritage and Identity.

How was the cultural heritage of the Vikings staged in museums and what role did it play in regional identity constructions? The project team is dedicated to developing multiple outreach formats to explore these questions. In cooperation with the Stralsund Museum, for example, strategies for a public engagement with constructions of heritage will be tested in the context of a temporary exhibition. In addition the project is involved in the conception of a school project, an interactive digital tool and a traveling exhibition on interwoven Viking history/ies, heritage and identity constructions in the Baltic Sea region.
